The textures on this solid silver ring are inspired by organic forms in nature.
By visually translating the various aspects of natural materials the resulting textures in this stunning ring are sublte and can be interpreted in several ways - sometimes reflecting woodgrain, grasses, reeds and seagrasses - all part of the changing and varied landscape of the British Isles.
This ring was carved in wax before being cast in solid silver. During the casting process the wax model is destroyed and replaced with solid silver and the mould is broken each time. This ancient method of casting results in a one-off item that can then be finished into a striking piece of jewellery.
The ring is a size 'O' and has been hallmarked for purity at Sheffield Assay Office.
