This is a real statement of a ring. Not only because it's solid silver, but because it captures the unique beauty of nature. One acorn cup ( also known as a cupule ) may at first look like any other - but like a snowflake, each one is unique with a beautiful and instantly recognisable texture. The acorn cup that graces this ring was selected for its beauty, from the floor of a Peak District woodland, before being cast in solid sterling silver. During the casting process the original cupule is replaced with the molten silver for perpetuity - so like all my lost wax treasures, this is a complete one-off piece of jewellery.
The natural form of the acorn cup has wonderful visual and tactile appeal and as such this ring has an almost meditative function, much like a set of prayer beads, and invites touch from the wearer and indeed from the casual onlooker.
This is a beautiful ring, hand crafted and completey unique and has been hallmarked for fineness at Sheffield Assay Office and is a size 'S'.
